The Parish Nurse Ministry program is a specialty area of nursing focusing on health and wellness within the support of the faith community and its ministry. Parish nurses are licensed RN’s who work in concert with pastoral care teams in concert with congregations to make home, hospital or long-term care facility visits. They counsel on health issues, provide health screenings and educational information and help parishioners understand their medications and medical conditions. They can also help assist in obtaining needed health services, develop support groups and integrate faith and health issues
